Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19th, marks the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally learned they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It’s a day of remembrance, resilience, and rejoicing in the continued fight for liberation.

It’s not just a date in history. It’s a symbol of endurance, cultural pride, and the ongoing journey toward equity and recognition. At A Hot Mess Candle Co., every candle, scent, and art piece is a nod to that very spirit.
